Yan Ni, better known by her pen name Shan Sa 山飒, was born on October 26,

in Beijing, China. |

Very young, she studied calligraphy and traditional painting.. |

|

She was member of the Association of writers in Beijing. |

A grant from the French government allowed her to study in Paris.

Passionate about Art, she joined the School of Louvre, while continuing

Assistant of the painterBalthus, in his home Grand chalet la Rossinière,

in Switzerland, she wrote during her stay, Gate of Celestrial Peace which
