Wei Ligang 魏立刚 was born in Datong, Shanxi Province China.

He enrolled the Nankai University, ( mathematics department ) in Tianjin.

|
|

1985
|
After graduating, he taught mathematics and began to study calligraphy,
|
|
|
under Li Henian, Wang Xuezhong and Sun Boxiang.
|
|
|
|
|
1990
|
He published Wei Ligang Calligraphy & Seal-Carving.
|

|
1991
|
He graduated from Sha Menghai Calligraphy College in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.
|
| |
|
|
1995
|
He moved to Beijing and settled in the Yuanmingyuan artists village.
|
|
|
He was invited to lecture at Qinghua University, Beijing.
|
|
|
|
|
1998
|
He partipated in the symposium : the development of Modern Chinese Calligraphy,

in Gaoyu, Jiangsu Province.
|
| |

|
1999
|
He organized a retrospective of Chinese Modern Calligraphy, in Chengdu :
