Wang Guangyi 王广义 was born on January 1, in Harbin, Helongiang province, China.

father worked in the railways.

His
mother, who practiced the art of cutting,
gave him his artistic taste .

encouraged him to draw. His two brothers and sister was often used as
models.

graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of zhejiang ( oil painting
