Wei Xiao Dong 魏晓冬,Verhu player, was born on November 21,in Heilongjiang Province China.

At five years old, she learned to play the erhu (a two-stringed violin) with her father.

At eleven, she entered the Beijing Conservatory of Music.

She studied piano with Gu Jia Lin, guqin with Master Xiang Ting - and then guzheng .

and pipa.

1989
|
At twenty-one, she graduated and became a Master of the Erhu.

2005

After four years of touring with the Chinese film orchestra, she decided to move

to the United States and settle in Detroit.

She performed as a soloist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestraoit but also with
|

|
musicians of various styles.
