Rueibin Chen 陈瑞斌 was born in Taiwan.
|
|
|
|
- Education
|
|
He studied piano from the age of five with his father, a music teacher,
|
|
in elementary school.
|
|
The following year, he won his first competition, playing a Beethoven piano sonata.
|
|
|
|
Recognized as a child prodigy, he was selected by the Taiwanese government
|
|
to study abroad.
|
|
He had to fend for himself and didn't see his family again until ten years later,
|
|
during a tour of Taiwan.
|
|
|
1978
|
Admitted to the Vienna Conservatory, Austria, he studied with Dianko Iliew.
|
|
He earned a concert diploma from the Vienna Conservatory.
|
|
|
|
He then studied in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover.
|
|
A graduate soloist, he took classes with the Russian Lazar Berman (1930-2005).
|
