Kuo Hsueh-Hu 郭雪胡 was born in Taipei Taiwan.
|
|
Two years later, his father died .
|
|
|
1917
|
He entered theTaipei Municipal Rixin Elementary School,
|
|
and was introduced to Art by his tutor Chen Yingsteng.
|
|
|
1923
|
After a year studying civil engineering at the Industrial School,
|
|
( currently The National Taipei University of technology ) |
|
he decided to learn painting, by himself.
|
|
|
1925
|
He entered the Xuexi Art Museum to study painting.
|
|
|
1927
|
First exhibition of Taiwan Art - Chen Jin - Kuo Hsueh-Hu - Lin Yushan
|
|
His work Flying Spring in Pine Valley made him known.
|
|
|
1964
|
He travelled to Japan, then to Thailand, the Philippines, India, China
|
|
and the United States. There, he participated in many projects and exhibitions.
|
|
|
1978
|
He moved to San Francisco with his wife Lin Aqin, also a painter.
|
|
|
2012
|
He died on January 23, at his home in San Francisco, United States, at the age of 103 .
