1954

Hsieh Yin-Chun  謝英俊 was born in Taichung County  Taiwan.

   
 

He studied at Tamkang University, New Taipei City Taiwan.

1977

He graduated with a Bachelor's degree ( Architecture Department )

   

1984

After working in construction, as an engineer, he founded his own architectural

 

firm Hsieh Yin-Chun Architects, in Hsinchu.

- Architect socially engaged  in the rehabilitation of rural areas

   

1999

After the 2 nd earthquake, he moved with his team into the disaster zone

 

Sun Moon Lake, where the Thao aboriginal community was severely affected.

 

- He worked with the local people to rebuild the Thao community.

   

2001

- He participated in the preservation of Hakka culture with the construction

 

of the Meinong Hakka Cultural Relics Museum - the Hsinchu County Cultural Center -

   

2004

- He was helping farmers to build durable and resistant houses.

   
 

- He took part in reconstruction work

2004

- after the Sichuan earthquake

2008

 - after typhoon Morakot

 

Thanks to metal or wooden structures, the use of local materials,

 

and the collaboration of villagers, thousands of sustainable homes were built.

   
 

He joined architects Roan Ching-yueh  -  Marco Casagrande and sometimes Shu Wang,

 

to form the Weak ! collective, whose independent research center is in Taipei.

   

2009

His participation in the Venice Biennale allowed him to present Bug Dom, a bamboo.

 

building inspired by the dwellings made by insects, built on a vacant lot in a ruined

 

construction site, between Shenzhen City Hall and an illegal labor camp.
