George Gao  高韶青, erhu player and composer was born in Shanghai  China.

He studied the erhu, at the age of six.

 

Talented, he entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music without an exam.

1988

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors.

   

 

He continued his studies in Canada.

1991

He entered the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

1993

He taught the erhu and organized his first major erhu concert.
