1985

Chen Jie  陈洁 pinyin Chen Jie, pianist, was born in China.

At the age of three and a half, she began learning the piano.

She studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China. 

1998

At the age of 13, she left for the United States, where she joined the Curtis

Institute of Music in Philadelphia, on a scholarship, under the direction of

Claude Frank and Seymour Lipkin.

She graduated with a Bachelor's degree.

2003

She gave a recital at Carnegie Hall in New York. 

2006

She won the Festorazzi Prize (Prize for Best Pianist of the Year) .

She continued her studies at the Mannes College of Music in New York,

under the direction of Jerome Rose.

She graduated with a Master's degree.

At 26, she founded the Department of Music, at the Shanghai University

of Science and Technology where she is currently the director.
