Bruce Liu 刘晓禹 was born to Chinese parents, on May 8, in Paris France
|

He grew up in Montreal Canada and began to play piano at eight years.

He studied piano at the Montreal Conservatory of Music under the guidance of |

|
Richard Raymond, then at the Montreal University, with the Vietnamese-Canadian |
| |
pianist Dãng Thái Son and at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. |
