Shu Lea Cheang 鄭淑麗 was born and raised in Taiwan.

She studied at National Taiwan University.
|
1976

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

She left for the United States, to study cinema at the University in New York.
|
|
|
1979

She graduated with a Masters in Arts.
|
|
|
|
Multidisciplinary artist, engaging on social and political issues, she uses
|

many media: video, film, installation, video installation, feature films, performance.
|
|
|
1981

Member of the alternative media collective : Paper Tiger Television,

|
she produced programs on racism.
|
|
|
1990

She began to explore Net Art and create network installations, with audience,

|
participation. |

1995

Bowling Alley installation of Cybernetic Art, entered the collections of the Walker

For the Sundance Film Festival, she created MobiOpera, a collective public cinema

recorded by festival-goers using their mobile phones; uploaded on the site, viewers
|
|
can then interact..

2017

She made a science fiction film in which HIV / AIDS has been eradicated: FLUIDØ
|
|
screened at the 67th Festival du Film de Berlin.

|
2019
|
She invested the Taiwan Pavilion at the 58 th Venice Biennial.

|
|
2020
|
She was invited by the Center Pompidou to participate in the program: Paroles
|
|
initially schedule in June and postponed due to Covid 19, in Octobrer.

An American citizen, she currently lives in Paris France. |
