Pang Tao 厐壔 was born in Shanghai, in a family of artists, who introduced her to painting |
|
|
at a very young age. Her father, Pan Xunqin ( 1906-1985 ) was one of the founders of the |
|
Storm Society, an avant-garde group to which her mother Qiu Ti ( 1906-1958 ) joined on |
|
|
her return from Japan, where she studied oil painting. |
|
|
1949 |
She studied at the National Academy of Arts in Hangzhou, then entered the C.A.F.A..A. |
|
( Central Academy of Fine-Arts of China ), under the direction of Dong Xiwen ( 1914-1973 ). |
|
|
1953 |
She obtained her Bachelor's degree ( Fine Arts Department. ) |
|
1955 |
Graduated with a Master's degree ( Fine Artsd Department ), she began teaching there. |
|
She collaborated with Lin Gang her husband, Zhan Jianjun and Su Gaoli on great historical |
|
|
works. |
|
|
1984 |
She moved to France, to study for oneYear, at the 'E.N.S.B.A. in Paris. |
| Back, she was appointed Professor of Oil Painting at Studio 4 of C.A.F.A. | |
|
1989 |
Retired from the C.A.F.A. she traveled through the United States, then to the United |
|
Kingdom. |
|
|
Her style evolved and turned more and more towards abstraction. |
