Li Zhensheng 李振盛 ( 1940-2020 ) was born on September 22, in Dalian,

|
Liaoning Province, China.
|
| |
Orphaned by his mother at the age of three, he was raised by his father.
|
| |
|
| |
Attracted by images, he learned photography.
|
|
1963
|
He joined the Heilongjiang Daily as a photographer in Harbin.
|
| |
|
|
1971
|
He was in charge of the newspaper's photography department.
|
|
|
He hided the illicit photos, but destroyed a good part of them.
|
| |
|
|
1988
|
A project of book was envisaged with the Director of the agency Contact ,
|
|
|
Press Image from New York, book gathering these photos taken during
|
| |
the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
|
| |
|
|
1999
|
He became known with the publication of Red Color New Soldier published in
|
| |
seven languages, including the French version : Le Petit Livre rouge d'un photographe
|
| |
chinois.
|
| |
|
|
1982
|
He was appointed Professor at Beijing University.
|

|
2003/ 2010
|
A large travelling exhibition on the artist's work was organised through several

several countries by Robert Pledge.
|
| |

2017
|
A private museum dedicated to the artist's work opened in Sichuan province.

| |
|
|
2020

He died on June 23rd, in New York, United States, at the age of 79.
