Liu Shiming 刘士铭 ( 1906 - 2010 ) was born into a family of intellectuals in Tianjin,
|

Northern China.

1946

He was admitted to the National School of Arts in Beiping, the current C.A.F.A.
|
| |
|
|
1951
|
He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. ( sculpture department )
|
| |
|
|
|
He participated in many sculptures for the city of Beijing :
|
|
1953
|
- The sculptures in relief of the monument to the heroes of the people in Tiananmen.
|
|
1955
|
- The sculpture of the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Museum Square
|
| |
as well as the main sculpture of the Beijing Workers' Stadium statue.
|
| |
|
|
1961
|
He moved to Henan province and worked successively at the Art Department of
|
| |
the Kaifeng Normal School, then at the Hebei Art Museum..
|
| |
|
|
1974
|
He retired and moved back to Beijing.
|
| |
|
| |
His participation in the restoration of the cultural relics of the Chinese History Museum
|
| |
will influence his creative work. Rooted in traditional art, his sculptures with simple
|
| |
materials, real scenes of life are full of emotions.
|
| |
|
|
1980
|
He taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
|
|
|
|

2010
|
He passed away at the age of 84.
|

2018
|
24.12 The C.A.F.A. opened the Liu Shuming Sculpture Museum.

|
| |
International exhibitions were organized in New York, Boston, Washington, D.C.

| |
and Los Angeles in the United States, as well as Sydney and Melbourne in Australia.
