Gary Chang  张智强 was born in Hong Kong.

1987

He graduated in Architecture from the University of Hong Kong..

1994

He opened his own architectural firm: EDGE, later renamed Edge Design Institute ltd.

   

 

-  As an Assistant Professor, he lectured at the University of Hong Kong (1995 ),

 

the University of Delft ( 1997  )  The Royal College of London ( 1999 ), and the Politecnico

 

of Milan and Turin ( 2002 )

1999

The Hong Kong Pavilion for the 50th anniversary of the Republic of China.

2002

Gifu Kitagawa II residential complex in Gifu Japan

2002

Suitcase House - 44 m x 5 m - daytime gathering space, transformable into a hotel

 

structure with alternating panels and doors.

 

( in Beijing by the Great Wall of China. )

2007

Domestic Transformer - flat of  32 s.q.m in 24 versions

 

This project  was a real success.

2015

Tian Spa at Park Hyatt Beijing  China

2016/2019

Tellus Tower, Stockholm  Sweden with architect Gert Wingardh.

 

He created the Kung Fu tea set for Alessi,

Edge Design Institute ltd is ranked among the top 100 architectural firms in the world
