Gao Qiang 高强 was born in Dalian, Liaoning Province China.

He moved to Beijing, and settled in the Yuanming Yuan Artists' Village, located outside
the Old Summer Palace.

His paintings are based on the images of the Press to which he adds another reality.

Mao Ze Dong, is his main subject.

In his series The swimming Mao, where Mao is bathing in the Yangtze river, to show

to the people what he is capable of, the artist expresses his criticism through the red
colour of the water .
