Du Haibin 杜海滨 was born on September 12, in Baoji, in the Shaanxi Province China.

He studied painting and photography at the Central Academy of Arts in Beijing.

He entered the School of Photography at the Beijing Film Art Academy.

|
|

He formed the Daoguang Group with his classmates, and toured together, short films,

using a camcorder.

| |

1999

He directed his first documentary: Doudou : Doudou.

2000
|
He graduated from the Beijing Film Art Academy.

He directed the video Along the Railway ( a long wandering of 2h10, to flush out reality )

with which he won the Best Documentary Award at the 1st edition of the Chinese

Independent Film, and the Special Prize of the Yamagata International Documentary Film

| |
Festival.

From then on, his rhythm of creation was found: almost one film per year, mainly

documentaries and a short fiction film.
