Zhao Wangyun 赵望云 was born on September 30 in Shulu, Hebei Province, China.

His father passed away, he became an apprentice, at the age of 15 years..

Supported by a cousin, he studied painting in a private school, then at the college

of Beijing National Arts Center, and the Jinghua School of Fine Arts.

1928

He taught at Beijing Normal University.

|
|
1932
|
He settled in Shanghai. |

He was a journalist for Ta Kung Pao ( the oldest newspaper in China )
|
|
He traveled the rural areas of Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan and Hebei

to paint the lives of the peasants.

1937

With Wang Senran, Li Kuchan, and other artists, they wanted to reform Chinese painting,

1940

He moved to Xi'an as a professional artist.

Very active in Shaanxi Province, he became president of the Federation of Chinese

Arts in Xi'an.

|
|
1960
|
Exhibitions of paintings in free nature, in the open air, are held in Beijing, Shanghai

|
and Nanjing.

He visited Egypt. |

|
1977
|
He died on March 9, in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, at the age of 71.
