|
Wu Hao was born in Nanjing, in Jiangsu Province, China.
|
|
He studied at Suzhou Provincial Vocational High School.
|
|
|
1949
|
He went to Taiwan, joined the China Air Force as a junior officer, then as careeer officer, |
|
until 1971. |
|
At the same time, he followed the art class under Lee Chun-Shan and met other artists :
|
|
Ho Kan, Hsiao Chin, Ouyang Wen-Yuan.
|
|
|
1955
|
Although martial law had been imposed ,Wu Hao and seven other Chinese artists took
|
|
the risk of founding Ton-Fan, in pinyin dongfang huahui 东方画会 Orient Movement,
|
|
the first movement in Chinese art, rather abstract art. Fortunately the regime was unfamiliar
|
|
with avant-garde Art, and the group was able to work.
|
|
|
1957
|
He participated in the 1st exhibition of the Ton Fan group in Spain, followed by the others
|
|
held between 1958 and 1970. |
|
|
1964
|
He joined the Modern Print Society and abandoned oil painting for woodblock prints. |
|
|
1971
|
He took part to the the International Contemporary Graphic Exhibition.
|
|
|
1978
|
He returned to oil painting and exhibited his works. |
|
|
|
Figures, flowers, landscapes and colorful ethnic elements characterize his paintings
|
|
sand engravings.
|
|
|
1987
|
President of the Chinese Modern Graphic Society, he founded the Lee Chung-Sheng Modern
|
|
Painting Foundation.
|
|
