Qu Leilei 曲磊磊 was born into a well educated family, in Heilongjiang Province, China. |

He learned calligraphy and painting very young. | ||||||

During the Cultural Revolution, he was sent to mountains of North-East to work | ||||||
| as peasant. | |||||||
|
1979 |
He joined the Xingxing group, Stars,* first vanguard artistic movement in China. |
||||||
|
* The main members of the Stars group were : Huang Rui, Wang Keping, Yan Li, Qu Leilei, |

Mao Lizi, Bo Yun, Zhong Acheng, Yang Yiping, Ai Weiwei , Li Shuang and Ma Desheng,. |

27.09 He participated in the first unauthorised exhibition on the fence of the park |

adjoining the Beijing National Museum. The exhibition was soon repressed |
