Hu Shanyu 胡善余 ( 1909-1993 ) was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province China.

1928
|
He moved to Hangzhou, and entered the National College of Arts, under Lin Fengmian |

and Cai Weilian. |
|
|
|
|
1932
|
He went to France and continued his studies at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.
|
|
|
|
|
1934
|
He graduated from the National School of Fine Arts ,and participated to the Salon
|
|
|
of May, with two works : Autoportrait and Nature Morte.
|

|
|
1935 / 1950
|
Returning to China, he taught in Guangzhou Academy, at the National Art College in

|
|
Chongqing, then in Hangzhou Academy.
|

|
|
1980
|
He hold solo exhibitions in Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Kunming. |

The same year, Hu Sanyu Oil Painting Collection was published by Shanghai People's
|
| |
Fine Arts.
|

|
|
1993
|
He died at the age of 84 years, on December 13th, in Hangzhou, China.
