Ding Tianque 丁天缺 ( 1916-2013 ) was born on December 26, in Yixing, Jiangsu

Province China.

1935
|
He entered the National College of Art in Hangzhou.
|
|
He studied oil painting, under the guidance of Wu Dayu
|
|
|
1940
|
He took part in the National Art Exhibition held in Chongqing.
|
|
|
1947
|
He worked as an assistant to Wu Dayu at the National Academy of Fine Arts.
|
|
|
1951
|
Treated as a counter-revolutionary, for having listened to Voice America, he was
|
|
imprisoned for two years.
|
|
|
1958
|
Persecuted, his works were destroyed and he was sent to work for three years
|
|
outside the city.
|
|
|
1969
|
He worked under surveillance in Yixing for ten years.
|
|
|
1985
|
Totally rehabilitated, he devoted himself to his Art, full of delicacy and vitality.
|
|
He went to France to study Modern Art at the University of Paris VIII.
|
|
|
2013
|
He died of an illness on August 20 at the Zhejiang hospital at the age of 97.
|
