Ann Niu 牛安 was born in Shanghai, in China.

She learned very early, calligraphy, engraving seals, ink painting.

She studied Art at the Shanghai University.

1987

She graduated from Fine Arts College and continued her studies.

1989

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Design from Shanghai University,

she moved to study in Japan.

1995

Graduated from the Musashino University of Art in Tokyo, Japan,

she started working in Art and Design, in Japan, then in Korea and

in the United States.

2000

Back in China, she opened a studio in Shanghai.

She lives and works in Shanghai China.

	" I was born in Shanghai. I feel that I understand its nature. Indeed Shanghai means a lot to me
	now, after having spent many years abroad and re-experiencing the city. I am interested in people…
	Shanghai is a complex city. It is grand, devilishly beautiful yet novel. At the same time, there is
	something very melancholic about Shanghai…In the elegance of old Shanghai, there is an
	adventurous, vibrant and youthful feeling. In this “Naked” city, it is easy to encounter new
	relationships and be forgotten by them. Being emotional is what prompts me to paint… I love
	the dramatic nature in Shanghai. After all – painting is life, and life is drama! "
