Qian Songyan 钱松岩 ( 1899-1985 ) was born on September in Jiangsu Province China.

He learned painting from a very young age with his father.
|
|

1923
|
He graduated from the the Third Normal College of Jiangsu Province.
|

1929
|
In April, he participated in the first National Art Exhibition in Shanghai.
|
|
|
1946
|
He was appointed President of the newly Fine Arts Societys created.
|
|
|
|
He taught at the Suzhou and Wuxi Art Academies.
|
|
|
1956
|
Following his remarkable participation, at the First Exhibition of Chinese Painting
|
|
in Nanjing, he entered the preparatory committee of the Chinese Painting Academy
|
|
of Jiangsu.
|
|
|
1959
|
He travelled to the Silk Road and brought 40 landscape paintings and 100 drawings
|
|
The main motifs of his works are birds, flowers, chrysanthemums and landscapes.
|
|
|
1984
|
He was hospitalized and operated on a gastric cancer.
|
|
|
1985
|
He died on September 4 in Nanjing at the age of 86.
