1954

Lü Zhongyuan  吕中元  was born in Wuhan, near the Yangtze river, in Hubei Province

China.

Even as a young child he was already attracted by drawings and painting.

1979

He entered the School of Arts and Crafts, the current Tsinghua University.

He studied oil painting under the supervision of Wu Guanzhong ( 1919-2010 )

1983

Graduated, he taught at the Hubei Institute and devoted himself to oil painting.

His paintings are about the Yangtze River..

1987/2001

He traveled to Europe, America and Japan where he studied and obtained a Master's

degree, from the Tokyo University of the Arts..

2001

Back in China, he started teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts.
