Lü Sibaï 吕斯百 (1905-1973) was born on October 15, in Jiangsu Province China.

1921
|
He studied at the Provincial Institute of Jiangsu.
|

1928
|
He entered the Central University ( Fine Arts Department ) where he met Wu Zuoren.
|
|
|
1929
|
Thanks to a scholarship, he went to study in France, at the Fine Arts School of Lyon.
|
|
|
1931
|
He continued his studies in Academy Julian, in Paris.
|
|
|
1934
|
Two of his works were retained at the Salon of Paris.
|
|
|
|
His landscapes and still lifes, show a great mastery in the use of colors and brush.
|
|
|
|
In the same year, graduated, he returned to China and became Xu Beihong's assistant.
|
|
|
1942
|
He succeeded him, as head of Fine Arts Department of the Central University
|
|
of Nanjing.
|
|
|
1950
|
He founded the Normal Institute of the Northwest, Gansu Province.
|
|
|
1957
|
He returned to teach at the Normal University of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
|
|
|
1973
|
Due to marital problems, he ended his own life on January 14.
|

|
2012
|
A large-scale Art Exhibition of Lü Sibaï 's Oil Paintings series was organized by

the Yanhuang Art Museum in Beijing.
