1961

Li Xiangqun 李象群 was born in Harbin, in Heilongjiang Province China.

He studied at the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts.

1982

A graduate ( sculpture department ), he began teaching and giving lectures.

1990

He graduated with a Master's degree in Sculpture from the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts..

1999

He taught at the Research Institute of sculpture at CAFA Beijing.

2000

He was a professor at Tsinghua University.

He became known through his sculptures of Mao, Lin Biao and Deng Xiaoping,

then by that of his princess whose voluptuous pose got him in trouble with

censorship.

He lives and woks in Beijing China.
