1904

Dong Shouping  董寿平 ( 1904-1997 ) was born in February, in Shanxi Province  China.

 

 

1926

He graduated from Beijing Esperanto College and taught calligraphy and painting.

   

1930

He settled as a professional painter of birds and flowers.

 

 

1938

He went to live in Chengdu where he held his first solo exhibition.

 

He became a landscape painter and traveled all over Sichuan Province.

 

 

1953

He joined the publishing house of Art Rong Bao Zhai, in Beijing.

 

 

1960

He donated dozens of paintings belonging to his family to the Shanxi Provincial Museum.

   

1983

He bequeathed 200 of his own paintings to his hometown.

   

1985

He went to Japan, gave lectures, and held an individual exhibition of his ink paintings

 

in Tokyo.

   

1997

He died at the age of 93.
