1922

Chen Boxi  陈伯希 was born in November in Weifang, Shandong Province, in China.

   

1939

He entered the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts and Literature of Yan'an.  

   

1942

He graduated from the L.X.A.L.A. ( Fine Arts department ).

 

 

 

Assigned to the body of the First Army as a painter, he published numerous drawings.

   

1955

He was employed at the Ministry of Culture and becames the Editor-in-Chief of the Gansu

 

illustrated.

 

He was transferred to the Literary Federation in the province of Gansu where he becames

 

president.

   

2000

He retired but continued his career as a painter.

 

His works have participated in exhibitions in China, France, Japan, Hong Kong,

 

Singapore, and Taiwan.

   

 

The State Council awarded him The Lifetime Achievement Award, an honorary award

 

for his entire career.

   

2008

He donated many of his paintings to the cities of Longnan and Tianshui, Gansu Province.

   

2010

At 88, he organized his first solo exhibition to account for his large format works,

 

with a colorful world.
