Xiao Lu 肖鲁 was born on 16 April, in Hangzhou, in Zhejiang Province, China.

Her parents were teachers in Art. |

|
She went to study at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou.

|
|
1988
|
She graduated ( oil painting department ).
|
| |
|
|
1989
|
On 5.02, she made herself known at the China / Avant-Garde exhibition during which
|
| |
she suddenly shot on her own installation Dialogue, with a gun; closing prematurely
|
| |
the exhibition. Arrested with her partner Tang Song, they will make two days of
|
| |
detention, for public disorder, and then be released. This incident was considered
|
| |
as inherent to the performance.

She moved to Australia. |

She returned to Hangzhou, her hometown.
