Wang Qi 王琦 ( 1918-2016 ) aka Wang Ki was born in Chongqing,

Sichuan Province China.

Graduated from Shanghai Academy of Art, he studied one year

at Lu Xun Academy of Literature and Arts of Yan'an ( Art Department )
|
|
|
1939
|
He joined the Cultural Work Committee in Chongqing.
|
|
|
|
He participated to the creation of Chinese Wood Engraver's Research Association; |
|
and wrote numerous engraving articles for the Art magazine of which he was editor.
|
|
He also organized exhibitions of engravings in China and abroad.
|
|
|
1946
|
He worked in the cultural department of the French embassy in Nanjing, then
|
|
moved as a journalist in Hong Kong.
|
|
|
1950 - 1960
|
He taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, in Beijing. ( Print department ) |
|
He was editor- in- chief of the magazines Meishu ( Fine-Arts ) and Banhua ( printmaking ). |
