Chuang Che was born in Beijing, China. |

Very young, he was introduced to Art by his father, famous calligrapher.

1948

He moved to Taiwan. |

1954
|
He studied under Chu Teh-Chun, National Normal University Taiwan.
|
|
|
1958
|
After graduating he taught at Tunghai University ( architecture department ).
|
|
|
|
He joined Fifth Moon group who wanted to merge traditional Chinese painting with
|
|
western Art and became one of the main members withFong Chung-Ray,
|
|
Han Xiangning, Hu Qizhong, Liao Jichun.
|
|
|
|
He took part to the Biennial of Sao Paulo, ( 1961 ) and to the Biennial of Paris ( 1963 )
|
|
|
1965
|
First exhibition in NationalCentre of Art inTaipei |
|
|
1966
|
He received a scholarship from the Rockefeller Foundation to study in the United States
|
|
in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
|
|
|
1968
|
He travelled to Europe. He spent six months in France where he met Chu Teh-Chun |
|
and Zao Wou-Ki. He also visited Spain where he met Antoni Tàpies. |
|
|
1973
|
He settled permanently in United States.
|
|
|
1992
|
The Taipei fine Art Museum presented a great retrospective of his work; |
|
|
|
He lives and works in New York.
|
|
|
|
Numerous exhibtions worldwide : North and Sout America, Asia, Europe. |
