John Young  杨子荣 pinyin Yang Zirong

1956

John Young  杨子荣 was born in  Hong Kong.

1967

During Cultural Revoluion, he moved to Australia.

1974

He studied Philosophy of Sciences and Aesthetic, at the University of Sydney.

1977

He graduated with a Bachelor's degree ( philosophy ).

1978

He attended the College of the  Arts in Sydney ( painting department ), then

( sculpture department ).

1981

He received the Power Foundation scholarship and went to London and Paris.

1982

The Second Mirage - First Solo exhibition in Ireland, in the fishing village

of Rosroe in Connemara.

1983

Back in Australia, he lecturered in Painting, at Sydney College of the Arts.

The TarraWarra Museum, held a major exhibition, covering works from 1979-2005 :

He awarded the Australia Council Visual Arts Fellowship.
