1963

Yin Xiuzhen  尹秀珍  was born in Beijing  China.

1989

She graduated with a Bachelor in Art, from the Capital Normal University, Beijing.

( oil painting department ) and began teaching at the high school attached to the C.A.F.A.

1992

She married the artist  Song Dong  宋冬.

- the destruction of the old city of Beijing : Ruined City 1996

- the urbanization : Transformation 1997

She uses the old clothes donated by people :

- to create miniature models of them inside a suitcase : Portable City 2002

- to connect a bisected minivan ( with a tube covered of found garments ) and to give

She received the Chinese Contemporary Art Prize and the UNESCO / Aschberg Youth

Scholarship.

2001

She worked with her husband, for the first time on a project, a metaphor for the family :

The Way of Chopsticks. Each artist created half of the work - a single wand - according to

previously chosen parameters, but each on their own, until the two sculptures are brought

together..

2013

They transformed the Rittenhouse Square mansion into a three-story multimedia installation

inviting the viewer to see the differences and similarities between American and Chinese

family life.Their daughter Song ErRhui was also collaborating on this project. .
