Lü Shengzhong 吕胜中 was born in Dayuji, Shandong Province China.

|
He studied at the Normal University of Shandong.
|
|
1978
|
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Art, he studied at the Central Academy
|
| |
of Fine Arts in Beijing.
|
| |
He received his Master's degree in Folk Arts, from the C.A.F.A.
|
|
|
|
|
1988
|
His first exhibition at the National Gallery of China, Paper Cut Art Show,
|
|
|
using the ancestral technique of paper cut was very noticed..
|
| |
The following year, he presented at the Beijing Avant-Garde exhibition : Maze Walk,
|
| |
a large scale installation.
|
| |
|
|
1990
|
He began to teach Folk Art at C.A.F.A. Beijing.
|
| |
|
|
|
His collages and installations participated in the Internationl Guangjiu Biennial
|
| |
South Korea ( 1995 ) and in Venice Biennale Italiy ( 2003 ) as well as the Guangzhou
|
| |
Triennial China ( 2003 ). |
| |
|
| |
He lives an works in Beijing, as Professor and Director of Folk Art department,
|
| |
in C.A.F.A. |

|

2022
|
He passed away on October 26, in Beijing, at the age of 70.
