Shen Chao-Liang  沈昭良 was born inTainan  Taiwan.

1989

1991

He stayed in Japan for four years and decided to devote himself to photography,

documentary style.

1993 / 2009

He started a documentary on the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo.

1995 / 2008

Back in China, he worked as a photojournalist at the Liberty Times.

2005

He obtained his master degree from the Graduate School of the Applied Media

Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts.

2008

He left journalism to become an independent and critical photographer, while

teaching at Tamkang University and Taiwan National University of Science

and Technology.

In his series reflecting the evolution of Taiwanese society, he photographed :

1995 / 2000

The life of the inhabitants of a small port on the East Coast : Reflections of Nan-fang-ao.

2001 / 2007

Magnolia growers, florists or street vendors : Yulan Magnolia Flowers.

2006 / 2013

These trucks, veritable travelling scenes where singers and dancers perform 

at weddings, funerals or religious holidays : Stage

Unlike all his other black and white series, he used color to create a surreal effect.
