Guan Liang 关良 ( 1900-1986 ) was born in Panyuxian, Guangdong Province China.

He settled with his family in Nanjing and developed a passion for Chinese Opera,

which he made one of the themes of his painting.

He studied oil painting, in Japan, at the Pacific school of Tokyo, under the guidance .

of Fujishima Takeji and Nakamura Fesetsu.

After graduating, he returned in China and taught in various institutions : |

The Shenzhou girls' School, the Shanghai Fine Arts School, The National Academy

of Art, in Hangzhou.

He taught at the Guangzhou Art School.

He joined the Nothern expedition army and led the Art section under the Political |
