Fanfan Li 李芳芳 was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province China.
|

She grew up with her grandparents because her parents both journalists,
|
|
were persecuted by Mao's Red Guards and deported for twenty years.
|
|
|
1971
|
She studied with Shen Roujian 沈柔堅 ( 1919-1998, Fujian province ), painter
|
|
and Director of Cultural Affairs in Shanghai.
|
|
|
|
She joined the Fine Arts Academy in Nanjing, for five years of study with
|
|
Yu Ji Gao 喻继高 ( 1932- , Jiangsu province ) painter and President of the Fine.
|
|
Arts Academy.
|
|
|
1976
|
She joined ( the Traditionnal Chinese painting Department ) of the Fine Arts
|
|
Academy in Nanjing, for five years of study, with Yu Ji Gao 喻继高 ( 1932- ,
|
|
Jiangsu province ) painter and President of the Academy of Fine Arts.
|
|
|
1980
|
She graduated from the Liaoning Anshan Institute of Design and Research
|
|
in Architecture.
|
|
|
1986
|
She left China for the United States and she settled in New York..
|
|
Unable to enter the Pratt Institute, for lack of money, she opted for the Fashion Institute
|
|
of Technology, ( Jewellery section ) and passed the exam.
|
|
|
1989
|
She took part in the competitions of the major luxury houses, organised within
|
|
the school.
|
|
She won the first Van Cleef & Arpels Prize, the best young designer, awarded
|
|
by the Colbert Committe.
|
|
|
1989 / 1994
|
She was a designer for the jewellery house Van Cleef & Arpels in New York.
|
|
|
1994 / 2002
|
She was a designer for the jewellery house Bulgari in New York.
|
|
|
1995
|
She was a student of C.C. Wang ( Wang Jiqian 王己千1907-2003 b. Suzhou ),
|
|
painter and patron of the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
|
|
|
1996
|
She was a student of Wang Fang Yu 王方宇 ( Fred Wang Fangyu 1913-1997
),
|
|
calligrapher and professor of At history at Yale University.
|
|
|
2002
|
She decided to settle in France, in Paris.
|
|
She worked for Céline and later for Cartier, creating fashion accessories and jewellery.
|
|
At the same time, she continued to paint her series The Way of the Dream and began
|
|
to exhibit. |
|
|
2003
|
She won the First Prize in all categories at 41st Salon of Fine Arts of Ile de France,
|
|
and the First Prize in the Salon category at the Malta International Biennial.
|
|
|
2004
|
She was responsible for the illustration of the invitation for Le Salon du Livre.
|
|
|
2007
|
She published La voie du rêve ( You Feng Editions).
|
|
She started her Peregrinations series.
|
|
|
2011
|
The Asian Arts Museum in Toulon, presented her bamboos landscapes.
|
|
|
2015
|
She illustrated with sixteen original lithographs La Pérégrination vers l'Ouest
|
|
by Wu Cheng'en, edited by Les Heures Claires. |
