Xu Zhen 徐震 was born in Shanghai China.

He studied at the Academy of Arts and Design, in Shanghai.
|

1996
|
After graduating, he moved to Beijing during one year and he began to produce videos.
|

|
|
1998
|
He retuned in Shanghai and began to work as a curator and critic.
|
|
|
With David Quadrio, he founded BizART, an independent, not-for-profit Art Centre,
|
| |
to exhibit experimental Art. ( digital photography, videos, installations ).
|
| |

2000
|
He took part to the exhibition : Fuck off curated by Feng Boyi and Ai Weiwei.

|
|

2001
|
He was included in the 49 th Venice Biennial, with his vidéo : 8848,186.

2004
|
He was awarded the Prize for the Best Chinese Contemporary artist.

He represented China at the 51 st Venice Biennial with his video : Shouting.

2006

He initiated the online contemporary art forum : Art Baba, the first web platform

for discussion and criticism on Contemporary Art.

In June, he gave up his individuality in favour of MadeIn Company, a contemporary

Art creation company with a staff over 10 artists and technicians.

MadeIn Company launched the brand Xu Zhen.
