Yuan Jai 袁旃 naît à Chongqing, dans la province du Sichuan, en Chine.

Elle étudie la peinture chinoise à l'Université Normale Nationale de Taiwan.

Elle part en Belgique poursuivre ses études à l'Université Catholique de Louvain.

Elle obtient sa maîtrise à l'Université de Louvain, Belgique.

Elle est diplômée d'un doctorat de l'Institut royal du patrimoine artistique.

De retour à Taiwan, elle travaille au Département des Antiquités du Musée National

Ses peintures s'inspirent de celles exposées au Musée mais elle a su y intégrer |

des éléménts géométriques aux couleurs vives, créant ainsi une structure |

contemporaine. |
