Chen Wen-Hsi 陈文希 naît le 9 Septembre à Baigong, Province du Guangdong Chine.
|
|
|
|
Il entre très tôt à l'École Primaire Chen Li, puis au Collège St. Joseph.
|
|
|
1928
|
Ala fin du secondaire, il décide de se consacrer à l'Art. Il rejoint pour une année
|
|
l'École d'Art de Shanghai, puis l'École Xinhua, sous la conduite de Pan Tianshou.
|
|
|
1929
|
Première exposition à Snatow puis à Shanghai ( 1931 - 1933 ) Guangzhou ( 1932 - 1936 ).
|
|
|
1937
|
Il reçoit l'éloge de Xu Beihong à la 2ème exposition Nationale d'Art, Nanjing
|
|
La même année, il est élu comme l'un des dix meilleurs artistes chinois contemporains, |
|
par un magazine d'Art anglais. |
|
|
1948
|
Il s'installe à Singapour et commence à enseigner la peinture à l'École Secondaire
|
|
Chinoise, puis à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Nanyang.
|
|
|
|
Il est un des quatre artistes et éducateurs, pionniers de Singapour, avec ses amis :
|
|
Chen Chong Swee, Liu Kang, Cheong Soo Pieng .
|
|
|
|
Durant les vacances, il voyage en Asie du Sud-Est en quête d'inspiration. |
|
|
|
Il participe à des expositions du groupe de la Société d'Art de Singapour.
