Wang Shu 王澍 was born on November 4 in Ürümqi, China.

He studied at the Nanjing Institute of Technology, now the Southeast University.

He graduated with a Master's degree.
|
|
|

With her wife Lu Wenyu, also an architect, they created the Amateur Architecture

Studio.

He graduated from Tongji Shanghai University with a Ph.D. in Urban Planning.

|
He was a professor at the faculty of the Chinese Academy of Arts in Hangzhou

and later headed the department of architecture.

He was appointed Dean of the School of Architecture.

|
|
|
As an architect, he always made the choice of premises in his creative projects ( mix of

|
Chinese tradition and modern design ).

|
Thus he reuses bricks and tiles from destroyed buildings for the Ningbo History Museum
|
|
and the roof of the new Hangzhou University.

La Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, Paris France awarded him the Global Award for

Sustainable Architecture..

He won the Luban Prize, First Prize of Art of Architecture of China, for the realization

of the Ningbo History Museum.

He received the Gold Medal of the French Academy of Architecture.

He is the youngest laureate and the first Chinese to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize.
