Wang Shu 王澍 was born on November 4 in Ürümqi, China. |
|
He studied at the Nanjing Institute of Technology, now the Southeast University. |
|

He got a bachelor's degree. |
|
1988 |
He graduated with a Master's degree. |
|
1997 |
With her wife Lu Wenyu, also an architect, they created the Amateur Architecture |
|
|
Studio. |

|

2000 |
He graduated from Tongji Shanghai University with a Ph.D. in Urban Planning. |
|
He was a professor at the faculty of the Chinese Academy of Arts in Hangzhou |
|
|
and later headed the department of architecture. |
|
|
2007 |
He was appointed Dean of the School of Architecture. |
|
As an architect, he always made the choice of premises in his creative projects ( mix of |
|
|
Chinese tradition and modern design ). |
|
|
Thus he reuses bricks and tiles from destroyed buildings for the Ningbo History Museum |
|
|
and the roof of the new Hangzhou University. |
|
|
2007 |
La Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, Paris France awarded him the Global Award for |
|
Sustainable Architecture.. |
|
|
2009 |
He won the Luban Prize, First Prize of Art of Architecture of China, for the realization |
|
of the Ningbo History Museum. |
|
|
2010 |
He received the Gold Medal of the French Academy of Architecture. |
|
2012 |
He is the youngest laureate and the first Chinese to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize. |
