Shu Qun 舒群 was born in Jilin Province China.

He studied at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts .

He graduated with a Bachelor's degree. ( Chinese painting department )

With among others : Wang Guangyi ( 1957 - ) Ren Jian ( 1955 - ) and Liu Yan, he co-fonded

Nothern Art group, the first new wave art movement of the 80s.

He organized the first Biennial of Nothern Art group at the Jilin Art Institute in Changchun.

He participated in the China Avant-Garde exhibition at the National Art Museum of China.

He was appointed Associate Professor at Wuhan University.
|

|
| |
Currently, he teaches Art at the Southwestern Jiaotong University in Chengdu.

He lives and works in Chengdu China.
