Lou Zhenggang 婁正綱 was born on July 8 in Heilongjiang Province China. |

Her family was from Pizhou, Jiangsu Province China. |
|
|
1969 |
She was introduced to calligraphy at a very young age by her father, Lou Diping, |
|
calligrapher and poet. |
|
|
1974 |
She won the Calligraphy Competition. |
|
1978 |
Child prodigy, the government allowed her to enter the Academy of Fine Arts, |
|
|
to learn calligraphy and ink painting from the greatest masters. |
|
|
|
|
|
She joined Beijing University. |
|
1980 |
She won the First Prize at the National Youth Calligraphy Exhibition in China. |
|
1986 |
She moved to Japan,in Tokyo. |
|
She studied with Matazo Kayama 加山又造 ( 1927-2004 ), experimented new |
|
|
techniques and developed colorful and abstract styles. |
|
|
1987/1993 |
She exhibited in seven venues of the Japanese group SOGO Yokohama Japan. |
|
|
|
|
1993 |
She traveled to the United States and an exhibition of her works was held, |
|
at the United States headquarters. |
|
|
|
She donated 22 works to UNICEF which were reproduced as postcards |
|
and distributed in 140 countries. |
|
|
1997 |
She participated in the exhibition of Outstanding Chinese Women in Beijing China. |
|
1999 |
She made a donation to develop Art education in China. |
|
|
|
|
2006 |
She published her autobiography : Heart Stumble: Calligraphy and Life de Lou Zhenggang. |
|
To better promote the culture of Chinese calligraphy and painting, she took part in |
|
|
television interviews and wrote numerous columns for different magazines. |
|
