1969

Ma Liuming   马六明 was born in Huangshi, Hubei province  China.

1981

He studied oil panting with Cai Erhe.

1987

He entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Hubei.

1991

He graduated from the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. ( Oil painting Department )

1993

He was one of the first artists to move to the outskirts of Beijing in the East Village.

1994

He created for his first performance Fen-Ma Liuming, a character with a woman's face

and a man's body.

1998

He participated in the Venice Biennial.

2000

He returned to painting with his Baby series where again he played on ambiguity.

He lives and works in Beijing  China.
