1955

Gu Wenda  谷文达 was born in Shanghai, China.

1976

He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Shanghai.

He entered at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zhejiang, where he studied traditional

painting under the direction of Lu Yanshao.

1981

He obtained his M.F.A. and taught during six years, at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine  

Arts, in Hangzhou.

1986

Suspected of being critical, his exhibition of large paintings of ideograms invented

and meaningless was closed on the evening before of the opening by the authorities..

1987

He arrived in the United States.

1993

After the language he began an evolutionary work on the hair under the name of :

United Nations Projects.

Five continents, and some twenty countries will see it in fifteen years.

He works and lives in New York  United States. and Shanghai  China.
