1902

Liao Chi-Chun 廖继春 ( 1902-1976 ) was born in January 4 inTaichung  Taiwan.

 

 

1918

He entered the National Language School inTaiwan .
  Graduated, he began teaching, then he moved to Japan.
   
  He joined theTokyo School of Fine Arts and studied underTanabe Itaru (1886 - 1968 )

1927

Graduated, he returned toTaiwan and Taught Art, in Tainan.
   
 

Very active, he co-founded Chih-Yang  Western Painting Society and Tai-Yang Art Society.

   

1927

He participated at the 1rst Art exhibition in TaIwan with his works:  Female Nude - Still Life.

 

 

1928

He participated at the Imperial Art exhibition, with his work Courtyard with Banana Trees.

   

1947/ 1973

He taught ( Art Department ) at the Taiwan ( future NTNU )

 

 

1962

Invited by the United States, he visited Europe and America, for a year.
   

1970

He held his first exhibition.
   
 

His style evolved - After the landscapes and still lifes of the early years,

 

he simplified forms and introduced vivid colors,

   

1976

On Februarry 13, he passed away at the age of 74 .
