He began taking violin lessons with Sylvia Lee at the age of five.

At twelve, he left to continue his studies in Sydney, Australia, under the direction of

At fifteen, he auditioned for admission to the Juillard School in New York.York.

|
Accepted, he studied for six years under the direction of Dorothy DeLay (1917-2002).
|
|
At nineteen, he participated in the Mozart Festival, the New York Classical Music
|
|
He performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3.
|
1980
|
He made his concert debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta,
|
|
performing the Mendelssohn Concerto.
|

He was appointed Professor of Violin at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
