1917

Zong Qixiang  宗其香 ( 1917-1999 ) was born on November 30, in a poor family, in Nanjing,

Jiangsu Province, in China.

1939

He went to study at the National Central University. ( Fine Arts department )

1944

After graduating, he was an assistant researcher at the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts.

1946

He was appointed professor at the Beijing School of Art.

1948

He joined the People's Liberation Army as a teacher and made many sketches.

1955

He married Wu Pingmei.

1961

He was appointed Director of the Landscape Painting Department of the C.A.F.A.

1999

He passed away on the morning of December 29, at the age of 82 .

2017

27.06 27.08 The Central Academy of the Museum of Fine Arts of China, Beijing organized

a commemorative exhibition for the centenary of the birth of Zong Qixiang, at the Museum

of Fine Arts of China, Beijing.
