1989

Zhe Chen  陈哲 was born in Beijing, China..

She presented The Bearable, a series of self-portraits ( 2007-2010 ) on self-harmet.

2011

She graduated with a B.F.A. ( Photography and Imaging ).

In the same year, she won the Magnum Foundation's Inge Morath Award, 

the Three Shadows Award, and the Grand Prize for Photography, at Caochangdi

Photospring of Beijing.

2012

She presented The Bees, the continuation of her project, ( 2010-2012 ) expanded

with a collection of exchanges with her subjects.

2016

Bees and Bearable won the Prize of the Kassel Fotobook Festival.

She lives and works in  Los Angeles United States.
